On meetings and contacts of the Ambassador of the Russian Federation

In recent months, the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Mauritius has continued a series of meetings with the representatives of Mauritian authorities, relevant officials of the local Ministry of Foreign Affairs, political and religious figures.
During events, which were arranged by the Prime Minister’s Office and the Protocol Department of the Mauritian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the occasion of New Year, Konstantin Klimovskiy had the opportunity to have conversations with the Prime-Minister of the Republic of Mauritius Honourable Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Housing and Land Use Planning, Minister of Tourism Honourable Louis Steven Obeegadoo, the Secretary for Foreign Affairs of the Mauritian MFA His Excellency Haymandoyal Dillum, the Permanent Secretary of the Foreign Ministry Mrs. Shabina Lotun and the Senior Chief Executive of the Human Rights Division Mrs. Asha Burrenchobary.
On February 26, 2021 he was received by the Vice-President of the Republic of Mauritius Marie His Excellency Cyril Eddy Boissezon (photo).
The Ambassador also had a meeting with the Acting Director of Regional Integration (IORA) Division of MFA Mauritius Mrs. Minakshi Dabee-Hauzaree, with the Parish Priest of the Orthodox Christian church of Mauritius Father Athanasius, as well as with the Acting Secretary General of the Indian Ocean Rim Association Dr. Gatot Hari Gunawan. The meeting with the latter was held in the framework of the work carried out by the Russian Federation in order to obtain the status of IORA Dialogue Partner. The application for adhesion was handed over on November 16, 2020 during the meeting with the Secretary General of IORA Dr. Nomvuyo Nokwe (photo) the 3-year mandate of whom expired at the end of January 2021.
Furthermore, newly appointed Heads of the diplomatic missions of France, Madagascar, Egypt and Australia paid courtesy calls to the Russian Ambassador.
