Extension of Quarantine Period and Travel Alerts

Amid prevailing situation of the COVID-19 across the country the Government of the Republic of Mauritius decided to extend the current restrictions up to the 30th of June, 2021. Beaches, public gardens, places of worship and other crowded public areas remain closed until further notice; restaurants and bars are allowed only takeaway and food delivery services. Indoor events cannot exceed more than 10 people in one place. Cabinet took further note to extend the prohibition of entry of aircrafts and ships into Mauritius until the 31st of July, 2021, except for the aircrafts and ships as the Prime Minister may approve.
All prospective passengers travelling to Mauritius must possess a certificate of a negative COVID-19 PCR test administrated not earlier than 72 hours before the date of boarding at the last point of embarkation and a proof of purchase of a travel package including accommodation at a designated hotel for a mandatory 14-day in-room quarantine followed by 7 days self-isolation.
