On a Regular Meeting of the Coordinating Council of the Organization of Russian Compatriots Residing in the Republic of Mauritius

A regular meeting of the Coordinating Council of the Organization of Russian Compatriots Residing in the Republic of Mauritius was held in the format of video conference on February 17, 2021.
Anastasia Sokolovskaia, the Head of the Consular Section of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Mauritius, took part in the event.
She expressed her gratitude to the most active members of our diaspora for their well-coordinated work, which was carried-out in 2020 despite a difficult epidemiological situation.
The meeting discussed the results of the Council’s work over the past year, noted the online-holding of such significant events as the "Immortal Regiment", "Candle of Memory", and the Day of the Russian Language.
The Chairperson of the Council Olga Bogacheva announced a list of events planned for the next six months: a concert on the occasion of the international Women Day, the celebration of Maslenitsa, commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the flight of Yu.Gagarin in outer space, the Victory Day, Pushkin's Birthday, the Day of Russia as well as the participation in the elections of deputies to the State Duma of the Russian Federation, which will be held in September.
The participants of the meeting expressed their hope that the vaccination program, which began in Mauritius in January 2021, will bring positive results and the next meeting of the CSRC in June will be held in person. Many expressed their wish to be vaccinated with the Russian Sputnik V vaccine.
